The Financial Planning Association and Fidelity Investments are offering independent financial advisers an opportunity to take part in the FPA practice-management score-card-benchmarking program at no cost.
The FPA Practice Management Scorecard , which helps financial planners establish financial goals and evaluate their progress, allows a planner or financial adviser to compare their business to similar businesses in the same market. Participants who agree to share their practice data with Fidelity Investments of Boston, which will use the information for its internal use only, can participate at no cost.
The cost for members of the Denver-based FPA who prefer not to share their practice data is $195.
McLagan Partners Inc., a Stamford, Conn.-Investment Property based consulting firm, is managing the program.
Separately, Rydex AdvisorBenchmarking Inc. of Rockville, Md., has opened its 2008 research survey to registered investment advisers.
RIAs who participate in the annual study will receive a customized practice-analysis report with charts that benchmark their practice against other advisers in the same asset range, Investment Property as well as a copy of the entire study.
