Humberto Barbato, president of Brazil’s Electrical and Electronics Industry Association, said a decision by the Brazilian central bank yesterday to increase the country’s benchmark interest rate may hurt investment.

Fidelity would not confirm the scale of the redunancies but the Financial Times reports a cull of up to 170 jobs.
The newspaper says the redunancies will mostly hit the support services and marketing departments. Investment Banking It says the cull will include 100 redundancies and Fidelity will not refill positions as they become vacant.
